and hello constant activity! The boys got out of school on Friday. It was a teary day as they left Navy Hale Keiki for the last time. Jalen was graduated from the third grade, the seniors of the school, so to speak. all three of them. Here are pictures of Jalen with his two teachers. I love them and the way they nurtured and lead my son. sigh*

I made the teachers thank you cards, brought them lei and gifties for the last day. My card was inspired by a card I saw on the blog hop.

the clouds and woodgrain are hero arts background stamps, the patterned paper on the banner are from the Oct Afternoon Cherry Hill pad. I love how it came out, although the word was a little longer than I anticipated, it’s okay with me. ;)

also I have been continuing on with my crocheting… i’m hooked, hee hee, and on Row 14 of my scarf. here’s what it looks like right now:

5 more rows to go, then fringe! wheeee!

I also tried out the embroidery floss to make those cute little flowers, ahhh I love it!

Today was a busy first day of Summer. We ran to the post office, picked up an ebay purchase from israel.check. drove out to Kahala to pick up a dental health certificate for Jordan’s new preschool.check. went to the new preschool to pay deposit, buy a shirt and turn in paper work.check. home to pick up checks in the mail (yay!).check. off to the bank for deposits. check, check, check, check! home for lunch, legos and nap. I tortured Jalen with a writing assignment, and I crocheted nap time away. Still need to make a run to the commisary, but over all today was a day with things checked off the list, and that’s always a good thing.

Flat Joscie’s trip to Toronto was documented on Miss Mint’s blog. so.cute. Did I tell you I did a silhouette card tutorial over there?

Tomorrow (or the next day) I’ll be back with news about my lego project, my new printing toy, memory makers, and scrapbook dimensions projects. Til then, thanks for stopping by my piece of paradise!

Love Love and Blog you later!

Aloha and welcome to my little corner of the blog-o-sphere! For those of you stopping by for the first time, thanks for visiting! Feel free to bookmark my page, or add me to your feed reader so you can stop by again! My name is Joscelyne, but my friends like to call me Joscie, and that rhymes with bossy! For my regular friends who are stopping by, I’m glad you’re here too! On this Memorial Day weekend, I’m joining in with 100+ other bloggers to celebrate the http://www.cardsforheroes.org group. (Here is a link to the start of the blog hop: Cards For Heroes Blog Hop) These people are people who are showing their appreciation to our Military Members in a real and tangible way. Do you want to know what they are doing?

They are supporting our nation’s armed forces by sending blank greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them

Do you think, Wow, I want to be a part of that!? I want to show my appreciation in a real and concrete way!? I’d hoped you’d say that! You can!

This is a cause that is near and dear to my heart! My husband is in the Navy and my brother is in the army and my other brother was in the marines…and we have so so many friends in the military who have served on deployments. I also know, as a family member, it is always so nice to get real mail from our service member when they are gone.

Here is a card I made for a hero saying thanks for your service to our country:

Here are some cards I made for some hero to send back to their friends and family members back home :

I’m making more cards this weekend!

Here are some tips to remember when making your cards to send in.

You can also make a monetary donation to help pay for the shipping of the cards!

Thanks for stopping by, I’m giving away a gift of scrappy/crafty goodies, so leave a comment telling me if this is your first visit or not. also tell me if you’ve participated in cards for heroes before or if this will be your first time! :) I’ll keep the contest open until Monday and post the winner on Tuesday!

drawing is now closed, thanks for playing.

I have been working with my very first studio calico kit and I LOVE it! the paper that really caught my eye was this red scalloped pennant looking paper (Jellybeans). I love it! (did I mention, i love it?!)

I took this picture last year as a part of my POTD project while getting our car washed at Hickam AFB. It is so typical of the way my van gets washed, by someone else. I’m not going to say I’m not big on washing the car, but well, you know.

I hand cut the clouds from plain white cardstock, embossed with a houndstooth cuttlebug folder and outlined with a glitter marker. I used a circle punch to punch a red/yellow circle from the Studio Calico Paper (Sunday). I added a yellow corduroy Stampin’ Up! button and used a foam dot to adhere. American Crafts Rainboots Thickers for the title. Journaling printed, trimmed and mounted. I finished up with machine stitching. Background cardstock is Stampin’ Up! textured cardstock.

I was selected to head up our PreSchool teacher’s appreciation this week. Yesterday I sewed a thankyou banner for our teachers. Today I made some cards and picked up gift cards from Borders. I’m also planning to get some lei for the May Day celebration on Friday and Candy and flowers on other days this week. I hope they feel appreciated! :)

One last note before I go. My heart is heavy with the news that Memory Makers Magazine is Closing down. no MMM contest for 2010. see this story. I have 3 Layouts in the next issue July/August 09, and the last issue will be Sept/Oct 09 and I’ll have a layout in that issue too. I wish all the best to the people from Memory Makers who have been so awesome.

On a happier note, I’m looking forward to scrapping with my pal Lisa tomorrow, some come back to see some more scrap okay, I’ll blog you later!

Joscie, rhymes with bossy!
