I can hardly believe it’s already November, and the second week at that! I know you’ve probably been thinking what the?? Yep. We’ve had Granny and Pop visiting from Alabama for the last two weeks and not quite on our regular schedule. I got a new table from the Navy Exchange Furniture store last week Friday. It’s big and beautiful and did I mention big? oh my goodness. It was marked down to $79 and it’s a monster of a table. I am still trying to get everything organized and really purging unnecessary items. Now there will really be space to share with my scrappy friends. When Troy was helping me move items out of my scrap space into the hallway and kitchen and dining room, he told me, “you know, there’s a word for this…” referring to my scrappy goodness… and I suggested, “well-stocked? prepared?” he didn’t answer. ha. smart move on his part.

Here are some of the items moved into the hallway:

moving supplies

the new table. not done rearranging/sorting/organizing just yet.

School- The school the boys are attending this year is a private school that serves Pre-School to Third Grade and Jalen is in third grade this year. We are applying to the Kamehameha Schools for next year’s fourth grade class, but it is highly competitive and we have to keep our options open. I considered sending him to a public school over on the base and supplementing him with additional homeschooling assignments. We stopped at the school today to see about a geographical exception form that might allow him to register next year. As we pulled up to the school, I really got a nervous, sinking feeling that this was not the right school for us. We went in and picked up the form and left. I told Troy that I didn’t have a great feeling about this school and that I felt like their current school was a little family, and this school didn’t feel the same. As we were leaving, I mentioned to Troy that we should see the Christian School that I was looking at online. We stopped in and got some paperwork and took a tour. The lady from the office was SOOOO nice. She explained different things the school has to offer. I actually got teary eyed. I know this probably sounds silly to some, but I really, really want both boys there next year. It just feels right.

We went to a “scrapbooking expo” on November 1 at the blaisdell center. What a waste of time. There were very few vendors and the selection was, well, rather disappointing. I did however buy a cool bracelet and pair of earrings. Check it out!

typewriter bracelet

typewriter earrings, I got a J and a C

We also had a date night at the Cheesecake Factory (and a nighttime photo stroll in Waikiki). It was so nice.

I wonder, do normal people see patterns out in the world? When I look at things, I visualize them through my lens and/or as fabric or scrapbooking patterns. When I saw this building, I thought, Miss Mint, has a paper like that that I love!

and I loved this building too.

and Gas?! Could I be any more excited? I think not. I hope it stays low. Keep using your gas efficiently people. let’s keep the demand low! $2.69 at the Navy Gas Station! WOOT!

OH, and I did a photoshoot with my girlfriend Adrienne and her mom. so much fun chatting and shooting with them. Look how cute she looks:
