Hello friends! :) We have certainly been busy around our household. We had two birthdays this week and started back to homeschool too. I made a few new projects to share. I am currently in love with using cell phone pictures in my digiscrap because I have a pretty decent camera phone and using the vignette app on my nexus s android phone, I have ready to scrap photos and it makes it all the easier to get the stories told. and really, for me, that’s what scrap is all about. enjoy:

I love the happy colors in the kits from Tickled Pink. the kit also comes with a super cute epoxyish alpha that I didn’t use, but will have to make something else just so I can.

I have been chatting and emailing Rene from Australia for a few years now. We have so many things in common. We were glad to meet up face to face when her family came for a visit. The boys hit it off and we enjoyed our time together. We took our aussie friends to the aussie themed restaurant, outback steakhouse. I love the maps and the map banner in this kit from Michelle Underwood. and my new go to stitches from Two Peas, courtesy of Tia Bennett. ;)

I’ve been a silhouetting fool the past few weeks, and let me say, I am so happy about it! I’ve had to change my ink cartridges, buy more white cardstock and get a new silhouette mat! Here are a few projects I have to share:

mystery plant:

Journaling: Jordan’s class planted some seeds at school the other day. His teacher did not tell us what kind of plant it is. Our only instructions were to remind our preschoolers that it is their kuleana *responsibility* to take card of this plant. We have to take it back to school in a few weeks. We are enjoying watching it grow!

RAIN – Alphabet RAIN by Wilna Furstenberg

I used Laina’s flower digital cutter files and my silhouette to cut up some October Afternoon paper to whip up this hybrid card :) I added a Making Memories flower, a Prima Flower, a button and divine twine. :)Basic Shapes – Flower #2 by Laina Lamb

another hybrid card from me, this time using Vinnie’s Bracket masks with my silhouette. Patterned Paper, American Crafts, Butterfly die Sizzix, Stampin Up! Kraft cardstock, stamp, small oval punch, memento ink, silhouette, pop dots, glue dots :) Bracket Masks by Vinnie Pearce

I love these bracket masks by Vinnie Pearce! You can use them for digital clipping masks, or import them into the silhouette software like I did and cut the shapes. just a little layout to document how I am ALWAYS early to pick up the boys from school. Patterned Paper, Thickers by American Crafts, Stampin’ Up! Kraft Paper, Pop Dots. Divine Twine in Aqua. :) Bracket Masks by Vinnie Pearce

Journaling: I am always nervous about being late for pickups at school, so I always plan to arrive atleast 15 minutes before dismissal. I figure I can spend those last few minutes reading on my kindle app for the iTouch. It makes me happy to know that YOU know, I will be there at the end of your day.

I was both inspired by a tone on tone white card or layout I saw a month or more ago in the gallery @twopeas (http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=1595385)and by Laina’s super cute die cut frame shapes. I cut one set of labels in the same white textured cardstock that I made the mini book out of. I lOVE how it came out. I printed a few family shots in b/w and added the title in white vinyl thickers. sewed up with some divine twine. will be sending this overseas to Troy :) Favorite Frames 2 by Laina Lamb

***********

Personal notes. This Sunday was Jalen’s first time to be an acolyte in our Church Service. He has been waiting for a while to be old enough to volunteer and this Sunday was finally it. We woke up early and got dressed, made breakfast, and finished up our routine. We were so early, the boys sat down to play and I sat down at the computer to work on some digi stuff. before you know it, it was 9 am, perfect time to leave and make it with time to spare. I was happy, especially after the last two weeks of running in almost late! so the boys got in the car and I scrambled to grab my camera, put it into a big bag, although not my usual camera bag. Grabbed a snack for Jordan and a bottle of water *that was prepacked, just had to get it in the bag. then transferring my wallet, Touch and looking for my cell phone. oh and lip gloss. and grabbing my coffee cup. where is that dang cell phone? Jalen walks back into the house, Mom, are you looking for your cell phone? Jordan has it. ugh! i glance at the clock and it is now 9:20. <sarcasm> GREAT!</sarcasm> there went our lead time. we’re supposed to be at the church already! so I get in the car, and we jet to the church. Jalen runs in and gets the robes on and Jordan and I are getting into our regular seats… and here they come. Now let me say, in my mind, the past acolytes have been kids. I’m thinking Jalen’s going to be looking like a big boy. I hope he’s not nervous… and they walk in. The two in the front are a brother and sister and they are highschoolers carrying the candle things… and Jalen carrying the bible, just looks tiny. like a little kid. and the Big BOOK, put up a little struggle with Jalen, but thankfully he did NOT lose his grip… and he takes his seat in the front row and now Jordan notices, hey Mom, why is Jalen helping out up there! :) I’m happy to further report that Jordan went to Sunday school with no incident and Jalen performed his other acolyte duties without any troubles. He gets to do it again one time next month, and I couldn’t be prouder!

I am going to document my week along with every other scrapbooker on the planet… hee hee! I really enjoyed the last time with Ali, so I figured why not?

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate you!

It’s the start of week 2 of spring break…. week 2 you ask? Yep, we’re on the year-round school schedule. we start in July, get 2 weeks in the fall, get 3 weeks at CHristmas, 2 weeks for spring… get out of school in May. It’s been a busy but fun break so far. We have played in the backyard pool (yep the inflatable kind), playdoh, coloring, bubbles, hungry hippos, chutes and ladders, the Bee Movie, the mall, and reading reading reading. Pastor Jim lent us some of his favorite kid books and they are funny! We have been enjoying them for a few days.

catching up on POTD :
3.21.08 a full moon looking cool :) 3.22.08 Jordan gets bubbles on demand … bubbles now! 3.23.08 the cross at church… people bring flowers to put on it for Easter 3.24.08 Mario and Luigi…

I finally got to Liz’s circle journal. It was so quick and easy, I feel bad for waiting so long, but I am so happy with how it came out….
I used Stampin’ Up aqua cardstock, KI lace paper and aqua glitter MM stickers. i love how it came out! I give thanks 4: Jesus Christ, my family, good health, a house, electricity, air conditioning, clean water, being an american, living in paradise, my van, good scissors, my camera, scrapbooking, ink, paper, makeup, charmin, puffs…

I was out at my lss on saturday (while shopping for apron fabric) and saw these super cute acrylic stamps that I had to get for Happy Scrappy Sam…. so I made a card for her like this page:

Happy Leap day ladies! I heard that AMR is adding one more member to it’s DT from the previous finalists. Next Saturday there is a March Kit reveal, new DT member announcement, an online crop, where I’m hosting a challenge posted at 9-10 pm eastern and Stacey has another announcement.

So here is the extent of my scrapbooking madness, as if you didn’t already know. I am part of a circle journal group and the current month’s circle journal theme is sweet treats. we are to share a recipe, take a picture of the recipe and scrap it. This would have been done and out the door to the mailbox on February 15th, if I hadn’t been so caught up with Valentine’s day, our anniversary, Troy’s birthday, oh, and making 15 projects for Concroption.com DT challenge. SOOOOOOOO, last night I made a chocolate pound cake, just so I could take a picture of it, just so I could scrap it, just so I could do my circle journal entry. IS that madness, or what? atleast the cake was super yummy, all the boys enjoyed it… and I took some in for the teachers at Jalen’s school.

My van has been acting up, I have had to jump start it a few times now and yesterday was the worst. I had to jump start it twice, once to take Jalen to school and another time to pick him up. Today was Parent teacher conferences at his school and I knew I didn’t want to be trying to get a jump start at the school. So my sweet hubby drove down to the autoparts store this morning and got me a new battery and installed it. We were heading out the door to the school and I knocked my favorite travel coffee mug off the counter and broke it. I swear I have the worst luck with those things. either they end up leaking on me or I break them, or they crack or whatever. but the cup was full of coffee that was now spreading across the kitchen floor. Troy says, just go to your appointment, I’ll clean this up. He is such a sweetheart!

When we got home from the conferences, I am thinking I am going to scrap my circle journal project… but I casually log into concroption.com to check out the gallery/swatches/february to check out the status. and I see that Kimmy, the super scrapper extrordinaire has made 17 projects! hmmm I think, do I scramble and make more goodies today? or do I just concede her victory, after all she did do a good job.

Here are my projects:
You have seen flat joscie…(if you have not see her here) and know she’ll be travelling the world soon… and she needs a travel journal to document her travels. so here it is. a 6 x 12 journal. I cut the chipboard and kraft cardstock to 6×12 and bound it all with my favorite bind it all tool… the covers are Teresa Collins Bella Girl Paper and inside is a journaling card from her journal it line. CHipboard letters are scenic route (love them!) and they are inked with color box chalk ink and a prima hydrangea.

this is a mini year in review for 2007. it is black cardstock cut to 6×6 and uses Teresa Collins journal it papers (the blank calendars), and damask. color box charcoal ink. HEidi Swapp chipboard numbers. Making Memories glittered chipboard flourish. Stampin’ Up Notebook punch, alphabet stamps. sewing machine, thread and pinking shears. 7 gypsies gaffers tape. :) I didn’t take pictures of all the pages … they are very similar and not filled up yet, so be looking for the completion down the road.

ALL BOY… a 12×12 layout on black bazzil. 7 gypsies gaffers tape. Teresa Collins Journal it paper. Autumn Leaves letter tabs. HEidi Swapp chipboard letters. sewing machine, thread, pinking shears. Making Memories chipboard bracket, buttons. pigment pen. also, after i took this picture, the letter tabs were lifting, so i zigzagged some across the bottom. :)
I got my bind it all from Bonnies Best in georgia. we ordered them and had them shipped to MIL and she drove it down to FL last summer. http://www.bonniesbest.com/

YOU can also get one from Stacey at AMR http://allmomentsremembered.com/osstore1/product_info.php?cPath=49&products_id=403

and I finished my chocolate cake layout… I need to photograph it and get that posted here. and the result of my making these three things today means I didn’t submit for Becky’s sketch.

Heidi Swap days of the week journaling spots, tabbed journaling spot. 7 gypsies Memories ribbon. Generic buttons. Bling. American Crafts blue velvet ric rac. Sewing Machine and thread. Mini glue dots.

then piggies:

Journaling reads: Here is Jordan playing sidewalk chalk on the driveway. The sight of these little piggies in slippers makes me smile for so many reasons. First because they are just cute…but also because they are in slippers, in Hawaii. Jalen was born in Alabama and did not learn to wear slippers for a while. The fact that Jordan has these years in Hawaii, experiencing things that I did when I was growing up here…I just can’t explain.
Stampin’ Up! Kraft Cardstock. Scenic Route Patterned paper, arrow, chipboard letters. American Crafts Journaling pen. Buttons and flowers by Making Memories.
america’s game:

Portland Sea Dogs 2003
Journaling reads: we drove down to Portland to take Jalen to a baseball game.
I used Teresa Collins patterned papers to cover this notebook. Black double stitched ribbon to cover the seam. Black Bazzil cardstock to cover inside of notebook. Scenic route black chipboard J. I also painted diamond glaze over the patterned paper to add gloss and help with the wear of the paper. Epoxy hearts by Making Memories.

I made this chipboard book with my bind it all to fit into a snack box. Prima pink hydrangea. Heidi Swapp tabbed journaling spots. Pigment journaler. American crafts ribbon. Pink bling.

the last group is my POTD album so far. I switched back to normal large rings until I really need the super supreme sized rings… The dividers are monthly dividers bought at an office store… I added a strip of Making Memories 5th avenue paper and maya roads stitched velvet ribbon. each “4×6″ picture is mounted to the same sized cardstock alternating two shades of blue… and the back of the cardstock is the journaling side for the facing picture. I used a Stampin’ Up! journaling stamp, daily news stamp and a date stamp. I have journaled for each day. It was very helpful that I put a little blurb on the blog/flickr account for each day…

wow, did you make it this far? So I am waiting to hear if flat Joscie has made it to Oregon yet… I should have made a book for her adventures… I have had several offers to have her visit. I am very excited. I have a circle journal to work on and a few other odds and ends. Hope this finds you all in good spirits, and I’ll blog you later!

Okay, so first of all! I don’t know why, but some of my earlier blog posts were listed as drafts and then as real posts. this counted some posts twice. so my earlier count was off. sorry. So this is post #94…

My circle journal entry for Linda’s outside the box…

That drink in my header, is coffee. that’s right, not hot chocolate. I like my coffee like my husband, light and sweet. hee hee! Hawaiian Isles English Toffee Kona Coffee with Fat free non dairy creamer and splenda and a candy cane. yuuuummmy. if it were cold, you may confuse it for ice cream. sweet just how I like it!

I finished my contributions for Lisa Day’s Blog Party Wednesday, December 19. I made 2 projects… and I can’t wait to see them over there! I hope you’ll join us over there ….

Troy picked up our grab bag gifts, we mailed out all those cards (all except the international, sorry kim and heather, I’ll try again later…) finished lisa’s projects. Now I’d like to make a few more gifts and a gingerbread house. Pastry Mama gave me a recipe… all the ingredients are on the counter waiting for the scrap frenzy to be over!

we’re off to Taco Bell………. hmmm how many WW points for a grilled stuffed burrito??????????
