I sent out the ATCs for our monthly Concroption DT swap and wanted to share with you. I chose the theme ME cards. sort of like a baseball card that has a picture of you and a little tidbit to share. Here is the card I came up with:

the card is made on a pink hounds-tooth Making Memories Paper. The flower is prima and the book paper is actual paper from an old book I bought at last year’s book sale.

The other girls cards:

my pet peeve card:

This past month’s card theme was movie quotes. You know I’ve been obsessed with balloons since we saw UP… and though I wanted to quote Dug, that oh so lovable dog, it didn’t quite fit in my mind with the balloon pics I wanted to use. So i used a quote from Ellie’s scrapbook to Mr Fredrickson.

and I made a card for the hostess Allie:

I love this Japanese Paper tape I got here… so cute!

I hope you enjoyed these ATCs. I really enjoy trading these with the girls, swaps are so much fun when you know no one is going to flake out!

Love Love and blog you later!

I wanted to share a few goodies with you. I made two of these easter cards for the boys… super easy, I cut two pieces of American Crafts Bunny cardstock, folded them in half and added kaiser crafts black pearls for the eyes. I printed Happy Easter on white cardstock using PSE6 and used my stampin’ up! oval punch to punch it out. I layered over a Stampin’ Up! scalloped oval punched shape. Foam mounting squares and the cards were done!

This month’s Concroption DT ATC swap was themed Pet Peeves. I joked with the ladies that I’d have a hard time narrowing it down because there were so many, or I’d have to do a series to cover them all! I really and truly believe that it is those things that bother you about yourself that bother you most in others. You remember the old addage of it takes one to know one? Well the one I chose to document was tardiness. I absolutely hate being late. I think it’s completely rude to be late. I hate when I’m late and I hate when others are late. I imagined myself seething and steam blowing out of my ears. I drew a picture and actually liked it. but when I tried to duplicate it (i had 9 to do for the swap) I was not thrilled with the result. I ended up scanning #1 and using the wacom and PSE6 to create a digital replication. I printed out the outlines and colored each one with my copics, LOVE those pens. I am pretty happy with the way they turned out :) and I can’t wait to see what my teammates have done for their peeves!

the dot brushes and curved frame are from Karla Dudley’s Spring 09 Extras kit, check it out.

The last little whipped up project this afternoon was an Earth Day inspired notebook. Now I have made recycled minibooks in the past, but previously I covered the recycled parts with paint. I kept this one as is and I knew my boys would love it. It’s from the thin mints box! i just trimmed the front and back panels, trimmed up some manila paper a scant smaller and rounded corners with my paper gator, bound with my binditall and 5/8″ wires. :)

The girls over at Concroption.com were issued a challenge to alter an item that would be mailed to us by Tricia… I was so thrilled to see this super cute Peeps Lunchbox in my mailbox. I thought about it and decided to make it into a purse. I’m always up for making something I can use!

I started out by taking it apart and wet sanding it with 600 grit sand paper. I primed it with acrylic primer and followed up with two coats of my favorite acrylic paint. :) I traced a maya roads chipboard bird on the front with an american crafts pigment pen. I painted the bird with a darker shade of acrylic paint. I let it dry and then coated it with a glossy coat. I think it yellowed the color a bit… so I don’t love love love the color, but it is pretty close to the color I wanted. I added a adhesive rhinestone as the eye for the bird and a basic grey branch rubon.

I created a hang tag by die cutting a piece of Teresa Collins houndstooth transparency with my Top Note Die in my big shot. I cut it in half and then punched the cut edge with my Stampin’ Up! Spiral notebook punch. I also Die Cut a Quickutz J out of coaster board and glued it to the tag. I punched a hole on the top of the tag and tied a piece of grosgrain ribbon on to hang from the handle.

I lined the inside with white felt and blanket stitched the edges with aqua embroidery floss. I also added aqua eyelet trim to the inside.

I hope you like it, I know I love it! And I found some peeps to match too! :)

Happy Fat Tuesday! That’s the day before ash Wednesday/Mardi Gras/Malasada Day. So as not to break tradition, Jordan and I headed down to Leonard’s Bakery in Waimalu to pick up some Malasadas. These hot, sweet deep fried yeasty sugary bits are so so good! We picked up some for Jalen’s class to enjoy and some to bring home for the family! :)

We’re also hosting flat stanley who is visiting from Seattle, WA! So far he’s visited the school, leonard’s and the commissary. I’m hoping to get out to some other great sites before he has to return.

I forgot to share this layout All New Miss Mint’s Wild Hearts Papers, Wild Hearts Elements, Valentines Tickets, Machine Stitches 2, Alpha Roughed Up Pink, Stitched Sequins, Journal Stickers. I was trying to get a new avatar picture and Jordan wanted to climb up in my lap to pose with me. I was so happy to get these shots!

and my last finished project is for the Concroption.com DT atc swap. The theme is love songs, but I just can’t get David Archuletta’s song CRUSH out of my head, so I went with that. ;) I painted the 7gypsies atcs carribean blue (myFAVORITE) cut out some white felt clouds and sewed on red heart buttons (from walmart). I also printed some words from the song with PSE/Printer/my handwriting font from yourfont.com.

I am currently working on an altered project for a concroption challenge, and thinking about other hybrid projects on the horizon.

Flat Joscie went to CHA with PrimaDonna Liz Hicks and had quite a time! Liz took her on a tour of all the coolest things, I am so thankful for Liz. Flat Joscie made it to the glitz girls CHA recap video, met up with Vicki Boutin, Donna Salazar and Leah Fung… I can’t wait to read her travel journal. Flat Joscie is heading to the big easy, if she’s not there already… to spend some time with Veronica (MissOnigur) in New Orleans… and then to Canada to visit none other than the fabulous Miss Mint! :)

Oh, and one last tidbit… Did you know Creating Keepsakes has a blog? I have been following it since it just started recently… I won a giveaway on the blog, yay! :)

I hope you’re all having a great day! :)

Love Love and Blog you Later! :)

I did not make it to the next round of the Cocoa Daisy Diner Scrap off. But guess what? I got an email requesting another project for publication! This one is for smply Handmade which is replacing paper trends. (Northridge Media) It is scheduled for April 2009. Can you stand it? I can barely stand it, I am so excited! That is 3 magazines in April! I really need to get on the ball and work on some other things for submission (and DT stuff and Christmas Cards and and and dang, who’s doing the laundry? hee hee)

I scheduled a repair man to come today and install angel window guards on our upstairs bedroom windows. They are removable in case of fire, but protect children from accidentally falling out a window. You may already know, i am a paranoid, over protective mom. I am a safety advocate and believe in taking every precaution possible to avoid injury. The windows don’t look as pretty any more, but I do feel better knowing they are there.

other great news, my G1 finally started working! I did a “factory reset” and it signed in. I am loving this little phone. It is super cute, and I think I’m in love with the little android :)

The phone is powered by Google, so I can browse the internet, download/read/send email through my Gmail as well as my cutchens.com email. I can chat using Gtalk, Yahoo, MSN, AOL etc. I was excited to chat with my girl friend KJ yesterday :)… There are loads of FREE (*read not quite polished) Apps in the Android Market. It has GPS that is accurate! That dot landed right on my house! Using a few different apps, I can use my (lousy) camera on the phone and read barcodes, search for comparable products online and locally (using GPS). I can also read QR or 2D codes, a super coolio feature in my nerd book! (iPhone can do this too) I am thinking about printing cards with this code on it too!

Features I wish it had: flash player (so I could waste even more time tending myFarm on facebook) a PDF reader, a better camera, video capture on the camera, ability to load apps to the micro sd card, ability to play iTunes encoded songs.

It also comes with a micro sd card (1 Gig, upgradable to 16Gig) I have loaded some pictures and music on it and I am enjoying that. I do want to get a larger card so I can transfer more music and pictures. and I guess I’ll be buying more of my music through amazon.com’s MP3 store since I can’t play my purchased MP4s from iTunes.

I got a goodie box from concroption in the mail this week! The new December Kit is sooo fabulous! It has a bunch of Memory Makers Falalala paper, red pompom trim, a mini book, pebbles foam letter stamps(love the font) a heidi swapp clear clock, tulle and more more more. just a fabulous kit. TaG is offering a free gift with purchase of the kit. She also has some really great deals going on right now- check it out!

I also got a chance to go shopping with my girlfriend Lisa on Monday. We headed out to Ala Moana Shopping Center. It really is a beautiful shopping Center, but a little tricky to navigate, what with all the different levels. Look who we saw:

We hit up Old Navy, the Apple Store, the Disney Store… and a few others. We had a leisurely lunch at Island Burger, split a Hula Burger and onion rings. It is so nice to get out every once in a while, especially on a week day when most people are at work!

Troy comes back on Friday and we are hoping to make a trip out to see the city lights (and take a trolley ride). We did it last year and it was a blast… I just get nervous riding in the open trolley with the kids with no seatbelts… I know I know, paranoid. One other note, my mom was at Costco today and they changed the gas price while she was there. $1.95 a gallon! WOW, I never thought I’d ever see sub $2 gas. Do you remember, it was just October when I was thinking about sub $4 gas. I hope it stays down!

Anyway, I really should get to work on some projects, I hope you’re having a great day! Love Love and Blog you later! Joscie, rhymes with Bossy

I have some super exciting news to share! I got an email last week from Memory Maker’s Magazine, they are going to use two of my layouts in the May/June 09 issue! I am soooo beyond thrilled!

I also finished up the Church Calendar project last week, yay! I was really sweating over the whole thing, not really knowing what I wanted to do with it. I called the printer for further information and then got into a rhythm and figured it out. Such a relief to get an email from the Pastor saying he liked the mock up copy he got. YAY!

I am trying to work on some paper projects today. I have some ATCs to do and some Concroption.com projects too. I want to send a shout out to the three newest members to the TaG team, Lynn, Allie and Sue! I can’t wait to get to know you all better!

My girlfriend Chrispea has created a set of Christmas Journaling spots that can be used in Digital Scrapbooking (like my layout here) or printed out and used in Traditional (hybrid) scrapbooking. The best thing of all, other than they are fabulous, is that she’s giving them out for free! Check out her blog: Chrispea! If you decide to download them, leave her a comment and tell her you heard about them from bossy joscie!;) credits: Kraft Paper (Kindergarten Krafts, www.peppermintcreative.com) Staples (Foxy Lady Kit, www.peppermintcreative.com) Curled Frame (Miss Mint’s Curled Frames, www.peppermintcreative.com) Chrispea’s Christmas Tags (workforscraps.blogspot.com). Font: Joscie, courtesy of yourfonts.com Journaling: Jalen, Aiden and Derek. The rapping Santas also did the running man, the cabbage patch, raised the roof and the Roger Rabbit. I could not stop smiling! December 2007.

For the Dymo Caption Maker: it is available directly from Dymo : here or you can check amazon, Wal-Mart, or your lss or other big box store.

The retail price is 24.95. For Jocelynne, the cassettes are easily interchangable for Upper/Lower and Script in the same words! (what a great idea that is!). Also, I did not find any other fonts than the three included in the kit. Labels are available in many colors (including clear) and it is very easy to use.

also, if you are making/sending holiday cards, why not consider sending some to our Country’s Heroes?

We are hosting Jalen’s class pet Indy again this weekend. We braved the rain to take him to Bishop Museum to learn about Megladon (a huuuuge shark) and to see the volcano and the rest of the science center. We also hit McLunch, J’s KnickKnacks (got some spellbinders pinked circle dies, label 1 and cuttlebug houndstooth embossing folder and black chipboard *score!), Lighthaus Camera where I coveted a 10-22 lens, an 18-200 lens and a 24-70 L lens (which really felt at home in my hands). ahhh if only. The last stop before returning home, Dee Lite Bakery for some rainbow cake, our family favorite. okay, my favorite. Jordan told me his favorite was chocolate when we got home.

Now, back to my paper. Love Love to you all, and I’ll blog you again soon!

Joscie, rhymes with bossy!
