Glittery Goodness

December 4th, 2013 · cool stuff, craft, Creating Keepsakes, Paper Crafts, Publication

Hello Friends! It is December and I’m here to share a Glittertastic project with you all. I have seen these fabulous paper mache letters many times and I have even purchased a few individual letters before but they have done nothing but sit in a bin for a long, long time.  Last week or so I decided that I wanted to buy our whole name and put it up on the mantle. I posted this before shot and several of my friends thought it said Cute Hens. ;)

I envisioned some chunky glass glitter but unfortunately I only had gold glass glitter. I checked around at Hobby Lobby and picked up this super chunky craft glitter. Score!
IMG_1023-2
I wiped down a plastic bin with a dryer sheet to help combat static cling and ease clean up. I painted tacky glue onto each letter, starting with the sides and then the fronts and then sprinkled glitter onto the glue, over the plastic bin. I did not glitter the backs. I also like the look of glitter only on the sides.
IMG_1058-2
I also pressed the glue covered letters into the glitter. I was thinking as I was working, this is just like dredging chicken in egg and flour… #issues.
IMG_1055-2
I set the letters on paper to dry.
IMG_1062-2
I lined the letters up on the mantle… 1 2 3 squee!

I still want to put something else on the left side but I’m not exactly sure what yet. Also, this is our first home with a fireplace and our first Christmas with our stockings hung by the chimney with care. :)

Happy Thanksgiving

November 27th, 2013 · scrapbook

Hello Friends! Today I have a Thanksgiving gift idea to share.

IMG_0944
I started out by downloading a Printable Sentiment from Paper Crafts Magazine. It’s free, it’s cute and I designed it, eeeps! I printed the sentiment onto a Large White Tag.
IMG_0938
I added a petite chevron sticky to the bottom of the tag.
IMG_0940
I trimmed a short length of Solid Yellow Divine twine and stitched the tag and twine to a Middy Bitty Polka Dot Bag.
IMG_0947
I filled the bag with a treat, folded the top of the bag over and tied a bow.

Moxie Fab Thanks Cath!

November 9th, 2013 · cardmaking, scrapbook

Moxie Fab Banner 4
Hello Friends! I’m hopping with the Moxie Fab Thanks Cath Blog hop today. If you’ve come here from Tara’s blog then you are already on the right track. If not, you can start here at the Moxie Fab World for the top of the hop.
I have long been a fan of Cath and Moxie Fab World so, of course, I was saddened to read her post about moving on from Moxie Fab World. One of my first experiences with the Moxie Fab World was years ago when Cath invited readers to share our blogs with her and she came by and visited my blog. I was so honored when she visited and commented. Just a few weeks ago I told Cath (on facebook) that I absolutely loved her posts. Every image she shared always elicited an emotional response. Sometimes it was awww, that’s so cute. Sometimes it was WOW, that is amazing. Sometimes it was Gasp, that is beautiful. It was many things but it always made me feel. We share a love for tone on tone, texture, foxes, and so many other things. I also appreciate how Cath is sincere and always makes you feel important. FOR these and many more reasons I will miss Cath at the Moxie Fab World.

Thank You Cath and I wish you the best in your future awesomeness. because, you. are. awesome.

I made this card for you. :)

Hello Friends! Today I’m joining up with my Gallery Idol ’12 girlfriends to celebrate one of our own who is expecting a baby soon! Erin Schreiner is a designer for Unity Stamps. She is gorgeous, stylish and a great mom. She’s super funny and I just love her! To say that Erin is a KU Basketball fan would be a huge understatement, this is why I thought ROCK CHALK Baby Blog Hop would be a perfect name for our congratulatory hop. Here’s a list of the lovely ladies who are participating:

Aga Malyszek
Amy Kolling
Anita Recksiedler
Cheiron Brandon
Dana Warren
Debbie Marcinkiewicz
Elena Roussakis
Heather Campbell
Jennifer Rzasa
Jennifer Ingle
JJ Bolton
Jocelyn Olson
Joscelyne Cutchens **
Laurie Willison
Miriam Prantner
Nina Yang
Taheerah Atchia
Tessa Wise
Wida Yusufi-Miller

I created this card to send to Erin to welcome that little butter bean into the world!

IMG_0712

I created the image in Photoshop, printed on Neenah Solar White. I pierced holes at (mostly) regular intervals around the oval and hand stitched some buttery yellow crochet thread around the image.
My wishes for an uncomplicated birth immersed in love for this sweet family! I love you Erin!

Hello

October 24th, 2013 · cardmaking, scrapbook

Hello friends! It has been a while but we are finally getting settled here in Alabama. I thought it fitting for my first post back to be a hello card that I created for Whisker Graphics.
I started by die cutting a hello on this Large Gray Tag from Whisker Graphics.
IMG_0496
I also die cut some feathers out of a Silver Chevron Middy Bag from Whisker Graphics.
IMG_0497
I stitched the feathers to the tag with cream thread on my sewing machine and added a few dots in silver paint because i love polka dotted feathers. A loop of Oyster Divine twine held down with my tiny attacher and foam adhesive for the tag on white woodgrain cardstock.
hello card by Joscelyne Cutchens
hello die: Memory Box, fanciful feathers die: wplus9, White Woodgrain Cardstock, Tiny Attacher, Foam Adhesive, Silver Paint, Sewing Machine, Paint Brush.
I’ll be posting tidbits from our move and repainting our home and all of the life stuff bit by bit. Thanks for stopping by!
