Rock Chalk Baby Blog Hop

November 6th, 2013 · blog, cardmaking, craft

Hello Friends! Today I’m joining up with my Gallery Idol ’12 girlfriends to celebrate one of our own who is expecting a baby soon! Erin Schreiner is a designer for Unity Stamps. She is gorgeous, stylish and a great mom. She’s super funny and I just love her! To say that Erin is a KU Basketball fan would be a huge understatement, this is why I thought ROCK CHALK Baby Blog Hop would be a perfect name for our congratulatory hop. Here’s a list of the lovely ladies who are participating:

Aga Malyszek
Amy Kolling
Anita Recksiedler
Cheiron Brandon
Dana Warren
Debbie Marcinkiewicz
Elena Roussakis
Heather Campbell
Jennifer Rzasa
Jennifer Ingle
JJ Bolton
Jocelyn Olson
Joscelyne Cutchens **
Laurie Willison
Miriam Prantner
Nina Yang
Taheerah Atchia
Tessa Wise
Wida Yusufi-Miller

I created this card to send to Erin to welcome that little butter bean into the world!

I created the image in Photoshop, printed on Neenah Solar White. I pierced holes at (mostly) regular intervals around the oval and hand stitched some buttery yellow crochet thread around the image.
My wishes for an uncomplicated birth immersed in love for this sweet family! I love you Erin!

Your next stop is Laurie Willison!

October 24th, 2013 · cardmaking, scrapbook

Hello friends! It has been a while but we are finally getting settled here in Alabama. I thought it fitting for my first post back to be a hello card that I created for Whisker Graphics.
I started by die cutting a hello on this Large Gray Tag from Whisker Graphics.
I also die cut some feathers out of a Silver Chevron Middy Bag from Whisker Graphics.
I stitched the feathers to the tag with cream thread on my sewing machine and added a few dots in silver paint because i love polka dotted feathers. A loop of Oyster Divine twine held down with my tiny attacher and foam adhesive for the tag on white woodgrain cardstock.
hello card by Joscelyne Cutchens
hello die: Memory Box, fanciful feathers die: wplus9, White Woodgrain Cardstock, Tiny Attacher, Foam Adhesive, Silver Paint, Sewing Machine, Paint Brush.
I’ll be posting tidbits from our move and repainting our home and all of the life stuff bit by bit. Thanks for stopping by!

More migration pictures

July 27th, 2013 · Family, Hawaii, house, mobile, navy life

We finished up the packout on Tuesday, signed all the inventory sheets and watched the truck drive away. We drove down to the moving company’s warehouse to drop off Troy’s motorcycle to be shipped in our household goods.

We cleaned up the house over a few days, scrubbing top to bottom. I found these bits in my scraproom before vacuuming, hello sequin!
20130727-082025.jpg and then in the hotel room… 20130727-082112.jpg #craftyInfiltration
We also went out and bought some new shorts/jeans for the boys. I really do prefer shopping online for the boys. We took a break to enjoy some books at the exchange. 20130727-082624.jpg
We did find what we were looking for at Old Navy and thenenjoyed some shave ice when we were done at Mountain Magic. 20130727-082401.jpg 20130727-082409.jpg
Picked up my camera from canon the other day, got her serviced and all the lenses and body calibrated.
Living in the Navy Lodge is really pretty nice. We are enjoying the continental breakfast daily (hello mini bagels) and it is just like a little adventure walking around the island.

There was a guy who was fishing the other day and when both of his poles got a nibble, he invited Jalen to reel it in!
Sunsets are beautiful here. 20130727-083517.jpg
I snapped some pictures from the USS Utah Memorial

We woke up early this morning to catch the sunset from the USS Arizona Memorial

Yesterday the boys got haircuts :)
We end each night reading Fablehaven. 20130727-084206.jpg
And because I can’t resist food pictures…
20130727-084618.jpg 20130727-084627.jpg 20130727-084643.jpg 20130727-084654.jpg
I haven’t read a physcal newspaper in years! I saw a stack in the hotel the other day so i picked one up. I taught Jalen about the lettered sections and page numbers and let him read the comics. 20130727-084707.jpg 20130727-084715.jpg
I mentioned that i only kept one bottle of nail polish, essie mint candy apple, one glitter and base and top coat. #firstworldproblems my friends predicted that i wouldn’t be able to hold out and with so few color choices until sept. Guess What? They were right. Essie marked down to $4.77, i couldn’t resist. 20130727-084754.jpg 20130727-084801.jpg
And finally, we snapped this with my remote in our bedroom before removing the vinyl.

Whisker Graphics Luggage Tags

July 25th, 2013 · scrapbook

Hello Friends! I whipped up some luggage tags for our upcoming move cross country and started thinking, I should make some whisker graphics luggage tags… I started with a little bitty bag, label, Divine Twine in aqua, Cropodile, scissors, paper trimmer. I created the text in Photoshop and printed directly onto the label sheet.

I placed the label on the bag, trim with the paper trimmer so it will fit inside the card protector.

Tie a loop of solid divine twine

Punch a hole with cropodile and loop twine through the hole.

Tie on bag :)

Our week in pictures

July 23rd, 2013 · Family, Hawaii, house, navy life

We have been super busy! We had dinner with my classmates on Wednesday and with Troy’s old shipmates on Thursday. I dropped my camera for servicing at Canon. We checked into the hotel on Friday, it really has great sunrises and sunsets! Jordan is enjoying the continental Breakfasts. There are only three chairs in the room so we have to pull the table up to the bed for all four of us to eat together. The Packers have been doing a really good job getting all of our stuff boxed up and put into crates. I also had the opportunity to get together with some lovely ladies to scrapbook on Saturday. We have been cleaning up as we go so we can be ready to check out with Housing at the end of the month. 20130723-113904.jpg 20130723-113932.jpg 20130723-113916.jpg 20130723-113851.jpg 20130723-114241.jpg 20130723-114309.jpg 20130723-114321.jpg 20130723-114330.jpg 20130723-114445.jpg 20130723-114507.jpg 20130723-114459.jpg 20130723-114516.jpg 20130723-120903.jpg 20130723-120910.jpg 20130723-120917.jpg 20130723-120926.jpg 20130723-120936.jpg 20130723-120944.jpg 20130723-120951.jpg 20130723-120959.jpg 20130723-121007.jpg 20130723-121015.jpg 20130723-121023.jpg 20130723-121029.jpg 20130723-121038.jpg 20130723-121043.jpg 20130723-121050.jpg 20130723-121059.jpg 20130723-121105.jpg 20130723-121110.jpg 20130723-121118.jpg 20130723-121126.jpg 20130723-121131.jpg 20130723-121140.jpg 20130723-121146.jpg 20130723-121151.jpg 20130723-121157.jpg

Express Pack

July 17th, 2013 · Family, Hawaii, navy life

Hello Friends! I’m checking in via my mobile set up, iPhone 5 and bluetooth keyboard. As long as I don’t cave in and get an iPad or Mac Book Pro… this will be my set up.
The movers came earlier than expected yesterday morning, so I’m glad we took the time to separate out most of the items for packing.
20130717-093621.jpg 20130717-093634.jpg 20130717-093641.jpg 20130717-093649.jpg 20130717-093706.jpg 20130717-093713.jpg
here are a few of the BasicGrey essentials I kept for the trip…
The guys had our stuff packed up before Jordan even woke up. We spent the rest of the day cleaning out medicine cabinets, purging old makeup and hair products, washing laundry and starting to pack our suitcases. We also had our pre inspection with the Forest City representative, she is such a nice lady. Today more purging, cleaning, vacuuming. We may have to make a run to the dump because the trash bin is full and we’ve got old junk from the freezer to throw out.
I guess I’ve played around on the iphone enough for this morning, I should get to work.
Thanks for stopping by!

Cutchens Migration 2013

July 16th, 2013 · Family, Hawaii, house, navy life, scrapbook

Hello Friends! You know we are getting ready to make the big move. I’ve decided that we’ll be using the hashtag #cutchensMigration13 on our instagram photos that have to do with our move and travel to our new home in Alabama. The first big thing came on Last week Friday when we picked up a rental van and dropped off our car at Matson to ship to Seattle.

IMG_7733 IMG_7737 IMG_7739

The whole process took about 3 hours and was very emotionally draining but we know she’ll be ready for us to pick her up when we get there. Tuesday is the express pack out where the moving company will come and pick up the computers, printer and flair making supplies. These items will be delivered to our home in the first week of September. This will be my last computer aided post. From this point forward, all the pictures taken with the big camera will live on the CF cards in the camera until September. All blog posts and pictures posted will be done with the iphone. If it starts to look a little more wonky than usual, this is why. Please forgive me. :)

Thanks for stopping by!
