I bought this camera on ebay to use for TTV (through-the-viewfinder) shots.

I stepped outside to shoot some ttv shots in the neighborhood…

went in with hip/groin pain. sent home with instructions to return if it got worse. guess what?

May 10: ER

swelling/bruising. ultrasound. thankfully no more pain. taking it easy for 3 weeks then follow up.

This May I have a card I created using Samantha’s Papers from Creative Imaginations. The sentiment inside is: I’m lucky to have you in my life!

• I cut a 4.5″x 4.5″ piece from this flocked cow print paper and a 5″x 10″ piece of Kraft Cardstock.
• I scored the cardstock at 5″ and folded in half.

• I centered and mounted the piece of cow patterned paper to the center front of the card base.

• I used a ruler and paper piercer to pierce along the edge of the patterned paper every 1/4″.
• I also pierced another row of holes 1/4″ in from the first row.
• I used brown embroidery thread and a craft needle to sew a blanket stitch around the edge of the patterned paper for a cowboy feel.

• I centered a layered chipboard sticker to the center front of the card.

Sadly our favorite Manapua shop is closed on Tuesdays so we tried some  cheesecake at OTTO cake, around the corner from the lei stand.

I checked in on facebook to both places and one of my friends said she was surprised i went there, was I afraid and did i take the boys with me… Evidently there has been a lot of crime in the neighborhood and the owner was beat up by a drug dealer. I had no idea! I probably wouldn’t have stopped if I had heard the story, I’m not really sure. But I’m glad we were able to contribute to his business. I highly recommend the original cheesecake. :)

I also have some pictures to share. Yesterday I walked outside just before sunset, my favorite time of day…

a coconut tree in our backyard.  All the trees in our neighborhoods are tagged. love the tag and the lichens.

adjusted for fun, the sky and clouds. :)

while I love all the previous pictures, I really thought this one captured life on our street right now. We have a huge tree just down the street that dumps sticky pods and leaves everywhere. Lets just say, it’s not my favorite kind of tree. I do like this picture of the sidewalk in front of our house.

a quick snap of my boys at the front door. :)

this afternoon we saw this baby bird in our back yard. It was trying unsuccessfully to fly over our fence that is about 5.5 feet tall. It would get about 2/3 of the way up and fly right into the fence. Two larger birds came as if to show it how and where to go but it was not succeeding. I snapped these shots before helping it over the fence.

Today in church during children’s time the kids were sheep following the shepherd Moses and saw a burning bush. Pastor Jim asked the kids if they knew what God told Moses then. Jordan said, I know, take the people out of Egypt! he says, no that’s later. Another boy said, Take your shoes off! Pastor Jim said, that is correct, how did you know that? The boy said, I have a bible at home. Kids are so funny!

Today we’re hanging out around the house.  I hope you’re having a great weekend!

my sweet firstborn. i love this smile. so much better than the grumpy faces I get occasionally. haha.

Today we got to visit with some of the ladies from church. It’s always nice to have some adult time over yummy food and drink. I bought cream puffs and salted caramel sauce to share, it was quite yummy. Yesterday we went bowling with the Sunday School gang, that was another fun time. I was worried it could go bad with Jordan, but he really enjoyed himself and we are looking forward to going back as a family.

I have some scrap to share with you too.
