Hello Friends! :) Today’s prompt was to capture a heart. The boys and I made valentines today and neither of them wanted to cut out a heart. I made these by laying down three strips of washi tape and using a heart punch.

I also finished up week 4 of project life and almost done with week 5. I’ll be posting those soon.

Hello Friends! Happy Super Bowl Sunday. Here in Hawaii where we are hours behind the rest of the country, I grew up with Super Bowl being a post lunch party. We got up and went to church this morning, I even wore a dress and heels today. Typical post church lunch at CPK. Home with plenty of time to get settled in before the game. The boys are all in the living room right now and I occasionally hear eruptions of hyena like laughter down the hallway. I have lots of projects to get busy on and I’m trying not to procrasti-surf, but it’s a hard habit to break.

i think this should tide me over on selfies for a while. ;)

ps. i got this dress from eshakti.com. You can order by your measurements and they will custom make clothing for you and it really is a reasonable price. If you have a hard time finding clothing in the store to suit your taste, you might try it. It’s the price I pay for being a big girl.

as soon as I saw this super cute kit from Gen Bursett, I knew what I wanted to make. I love the new show called New Girl. It’s on fox and in the opening credits, they sing, who’s that girl? (it’s Jess) only in my case, it’s just jos. This past week’s show featured a little artsy girly girl rant by Jess and I thought it was so funny, I had to use it for my journaling.

Hello Friends and Happy Half Birthday to me! :) haha, it’s a made up thing for little kids, but I’m embracing it. I went off prompt today and captured one of my favorite snacks.

we don’t have a Krispy Kreme here on Oahu, so I bought this at Sam’s club. It was flown in from the Maui Store. Can you guess how much I paid for this variety box of KK?
are you sitting down?

12.78 + 4% sales tax.
but it was worth it, we all really enjoyed it. and yes, I DID eat a donut after eating salad, rice and sugar snap peas for dinner.

Hello Friends! This morning we went out to the USS Missouri Memorial to attend the commissioning ceremony of a friend of our family. The prompt was the photograph someone wearing red. I have very few red items of clothing and most of the people I saw today had on white, khaki or blue uniforms. I opted for a shot of me with my red lipstick.

Hello Friends! No matter how many times I type the word friends, everytime I type it here, I type Fir and then have to backspace to fix it. Maybe it’s the uppercase messing with my typing. Also, in my short attention span head, I’m thinking the numbering of the posts may get more challenging as the year goes on. but anyway, here we go with our regularly scheduled post.

Today’s prompt is about what takes your breath away. Of course my family makes me happy, but so many other things make me happy too. Blue skies, white clouds, clouds colored by the sun, the sun, flowers, lighthouses, old buildings, wood fences, textures like canvas and burlap and lace and yarn, glitter, washi tape, rainbows and I could go on and on and on. Do you know what else makes me happy? This tower on Ford Island. They rebuilt or refurbished or whatever, they fixed it up, good as new. isn’t it pretty? and if you look up on the right side, you can see the moon too. :)

you know I took more shots. one that included my shadow. and one from the other side of the tower with the sun peeking around. and the bottom shot is just the sun in the sky. no power lines, no buildings in the way. just happy sun. :)

Happy February, Friends! :) it’s 2.1.12, a palindrome ;) ha ha, it’s the little things that make me happy. Today’s prompt was fast shutter speed. I did not get a chance to go outside to play with a fast shutter speed so when we came out from eating dinner and I saw the sun glowing all big, orange, and beatiful… I had to snap this shot. I like it even though there are power lines and cars.

I also wanted to share, I moved Jordan back to his shorter table and let Jalen stay with his tall table. Today was the second day of working on separate tables and there has been much less chatter, more focus and work getting done much more quickly. I also had more time to do some laundry, make up beds with fresh linen, vacuum, fold laundry… and boys to help me with these things. and for the most part they were cheerful helpers. It has been really happy in our home the past two days. same kids, same mom, same work. slightly modified work environment and the difference is wonderful. I just wanted to share.

Hello Friends and Hello end of January. Today’s prompt was tiles, like scrabble tiles. I played a bit with my scrabble tiles:

and some yummy macarons we picked up after dinner today: coconut, vanilla, guava, mango, key lime.

Jalen- The coconut ones have little things on them.

Hello Friends! Today’s prompt was the written word. We spent our Saturday big fat day of fun at Bishop Museum. One of the displays was about Japanese immigrants to Hawaii. Here’s the my #p366 shot, the written word. A payroll book from 1909

we also saw a shave ice machine and tray, a miniature plantation store, type for a japanese newspaper, a mochi pounding bowl, a pocket watch, a notary seal and whip, and a kendo mask. Outside the Science Center where Jordan sat on a nene goose, inside with Jalen in front of the silver discs. the planetarium, oh yeah and the death star, hee hee. science on a sphere. click any of these photos for a larger view.
