What a whirlwind! We are in Troy’s hometown, in Alabama. We found out just yesterday morning that Troy’s grandmother passed away and a few hours later we were madly packing and catching a ride to the airport. We flew out of Honolulu at 11pm and landed in Denver this morning. As we waited gate side, Jalen started walking briskly toward the window and announced, it’s snowing! We were so excited to see the snow… until we realized small commuter planes = no jet way= walking out to the plane in our shorts… It was quite silly, I’m sure, the Hawaiians gawking at the fat snowflakes as we dragged our bags across to the jet. We made our way to Birmingham, got all our bags and picked up a rental car. We got a brand new version of the van we drive at home. The boys are completely in love with the auto doors and the rolling windows in the middle row, all features our old (and just recently paid for) van lack. We have settled in at Troy’s mom’s place in Slapout, just north of Montgomery, AL. Tomorrow we’ll be heading to Prattville so I can find something to wear to the Funeral on Thursday.
Here are a few camera shots of our day yesterday and today…. I’ll upload some real camera pictures later.
plain bread balls at Bravo’s where we had lunch yesterday.
I love this glass mural in the Honolulu Airport.
in the waiting area, Jordan made a new friend. so sweet.
We were lucky enough that they were able to assign our seats together.
I gave up fried foods for lent and when I realized we were making this trip, one of my first thoughts was our usual way of eating our way across restaurants not found in Hawaii… especially my favorite: Chick-fil-A. I ended up ordering plain chicken breast sandwich and a small bowl of soup. The sandwich was not at all what I was wanting, especially smelling all the waffle fries in the car. The soup was pretty good though. I’m battling getting this down, so I’ll check back with you lovelies later. PS. if you were a giveaway winner, I’ll be sending those goodie boxes out when I get back home, they are packed, waiting for a card and address label and I just could not get it all together before we left.
Love Love and Blog you Later,
Joscie, rhymes with bossy :)
