the big one-oh. double digits. a decade. TEN! I can hardly believe that it’s been ten years since we welcomed Jalen into the world and became a family.
We celebrated with dinner at Island Burger.
Jalen has been wanting a microscope for quite some time so for this year’s birthday present we ordered a microscope, a set of professionally mounted slides and some plain slides and cover slips. He was so excited when he opened it! :) Troy and Jalen put the pieces together on Saturday and checked out some of the slides.
Granny and Pop also ordered some Lego for Jalen (and Jordan). Most of the day Saturday was spent putting together Lego sets.
Jordan even got in on the action! I don’t remember getting presents on my brother’s birthday, did you?
I have been so busy since we got back from vacation, catching up on projects, cleaning up and cooking again. It’s hard after 4 or 5 days of eating out every meal to get back into the groove of getting groceries and cooking. It sure feels good though to eat fresh food again!

Happy 10th birthday to Jalen! Someone gave us a microscope…it’s awesome! The girls liked looking at things, were shocked to see how HAIR looked up close. Hannah will be 10 next June. It seems so grown up, doesn’t it?
No. He can’t be 10. The beans can’t be 5. I refuse to allow it. So, happy 5th birthday, Jalen! ;-)
