Jordan’s PreSchool Graduation

May 21st, 2010 · 5 Comments · Family, Hawaii

Yesterday was the aloha ceremony for Jordan’s Pre School.  It was a rainy rainy day, and another day that I was thankful for my habit of arriving early.  We got a reasonably close parking spot and made our way under a large Umbrella.  We soaked up our last times with our new friends that we made over this last year.   I passed out the picture DVDs to the parents because I just knew it would be a commotion after the ceremony, and I was right.

The kids filed into the gym and I could see Jordan’s eyes roaming and his mouth mumbling, “where’s my mom?” and after a few minutes he finally found me in my seat.

Then, he didn’t want to stop waving, it was like a Disney parade. He’s so comical. :)

They sang several songs and recognized the children one class at a time.

We got a group shot after the ceremony.

If you are not from Hawaii, you might not understand the madness of a high school graduation.  People come to the graduation with lei of all shapes, sizes and varieties.  There are crocheted yarn, or ribbon lei, candy lei, goody bags, etc.  It is common to see graduates who can’t even see over the stack of lei.  and yes, this mania evidently translates to preschool graduations as well.  Jordan scored quite a few lei, goody bags, lollipops, a few books… his favorite, i think, is the froot loop lei.

He: “Mom, can I eat this colorful cheerio lei?”

Me: “Yes son, and those are called froot loops”

He: “These are good, can you buy these?”

Me: “No, sorry son, those are pure sugar.”

He: “Okay.”

So starts the summer for Jordan.  Today is a luncheon with fellow fourth grade moms from Jalen’s school, a mom end of the year celebration.  I’ve got to get a move on, but come back again soon, I’ll have a peek at Troy’s Father’s day shirt, my first attempt with flocked iron on material with the silhouette, some pea projects and some minty.  I hope you’re all doing well, thanks for stopping by!

Love Love and Blog you later,

Joscie, rhymes with bossy.
