Aloha! Thanks for stopping by! Today is a fun day of card making inspiration with the lovely ladies of Operation Write Home. We are blog hopping and I’d like to encourage you to start at the beginning: http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org
My name is Joscie, and that rhymes with bossy. If you’ve been here before you probably already know this, but if you’re new, here we go. My husband is an active duty Navy Officer and he’s currently deployed on a ship that is home ported in Pearl Harbor, HI. We have been married for 14 years and we have two sons 9 and 5. We are very lucky to enjoy emails and occasional chats with my husband, but we love getting mail. The boys especially love getting notes from dad so i send stacks and stacks of cards for him to send home to us.
Operation Write Home is an organization that collects and sends card for our deployed military members to send home to their loved ones. I wholeheartedly support this organization and suggest you do the same. Are you thinking, well that sounds great, where do I sign up? check this out.
I created a few simple hybrid cards to send in to OWH. I used Vinnie Pearce’s Toy Box kit to create the card. One patterned paper, one element. I printed on matte photo paper, cut, score, fold. add a stamped, punched sentiment, easy peasy and now some one will eventually get a smile from this card.
In celebration of the blog hop, I’ll be giving away a little Hawaiian Prize Pack. Just leave me a comment telling me something about yourself. :)
I’ll pull a random winner on Monday and announce shortly after that. Thanks for stopping by!
The next stop on the hop is Monica at Little Bit of Life, enjoy!
Love Love and Blog You later!
Joscie, rhymes with Bossy

Joscie – love your very bright card. I can see a youngster getting this one from their dad or mom. I have been stamping for over 13 years now – and discovered OWH a couple of years ago – it is wonderful to support the troops and their families with this creative outlet. Thanks for your husband and his sacrifices for our Freedom.
Great card!! LOVE the banner! HUGS to your husband!! I live in Chicago with my husband and 2 sons. My oldest will be going to college in the fall to study criminal justice.

Please be sure to THANK your husband for doing what he does, so that I can do what I do! And THANK you for all that you do to support him and your family! I am inspired by your card and will definitely be “casing” it! Thanks for supporting OWH (I am a fellow blogger on the hop!)
I love your card. The cute clouds and the flags. I lived in Hawaii for 3 years. There is such a great military presence there.
What wonderful photos – thank you for sharing! I love how quick and easy your card came together. Shows that any of us could contribute to this wonderful cause.
Really cute card! I live in northern Wisconsin which is absolutely beautiful, but I am so ready for spring to come! I would love to visit Hawaii someday… TFS and the chance at winning some blog candy!
What a great card! We are card makers from NYC and love to make cards for OWH. I really like the clouds on your card and the colors of the flags!
Thanks to your husband & your family for your service! My daughter is going to be deployed to Afghanistan soon, so the cards I usually make for a veteran’s nursing home will go to her unit instead (I’m sure I’ll still make a few holidays for the nursing home). I love the card! I love CAS cards to highlight the sentiments better! I’m also on the hop, so don’t forget to sign up for my blog candy too!
I love making cards too!

As a military spouse and someone new to OWH, I thank you for taking part in this awesome blog hop and in OWH!
Yep, been here before and love to revisit. Thanks for sharing your cards and your story with us… I really like how the card is very simple yet very eye catching. A little about me? Middle aged new mom, Hurricane Katrina survivor, avid reader. (You already know I play with paper :p)
Loved the simplicity of your card. Poked around other posts….. you have some other great cards/projects!!! Great work!! – Thank YOU for YOUR service to our country as a military wife!!!
You’ve got such a great blog – I love it! Your banner looks great! :) Thanks so much for sharing such wonderful pictures of your husband and your family. Great card too – very ‘professional’/finished looking! As per your ‘comment’ request, a little bit about me – I’m a mom of three living with my hubby and kids in Vancouver, BC where I was born and raised! Thanks for sharing, and happy hopping!
I love how clean your card is. Thank you to your husband for serving. A little bit about me. Since becoming a SAHM 5 months ago, I’ve somehow found the time to be more stamp happy. Nap time is great for that. Also for house cleaning. My house is so much cleaner. Although this week’s chore to mop all the flours (no carpet in my house) didn’t happen.
A huge THANK YOU to your husband for serving this great country, and an equally huge THANK YOU to you for being the devoted wife of a soldier!!! Both of you sacrifice a great deal for the safety and liberty of all of us.
My son is stationed at Schofield Barracks, but is currently in California for training. We plan to visit him and his wife sometime next year.
Your card is awesome!!! I love the spectacular pennants and the lovely clouds…so very cheerful and incredibly refreshing:o)
Hugs!
Carolyn

THANK YOU for sharing your hero with us, in so many ways! You are a stronger woman than I to have your husband gone from you for extended periods of time.
