25 to go? This weekend was a good one. Jalen finished his book report and practiced his speech pretty well. We went to Church on Sunday where Pastor Jim spent some time talking to the boys. I so appreciate his sensitivity to the boys. I snapped my picture of the day of the two boys sitting in our regular seat and Pastor Jim was evidently behind me making faces at them. Can you tell Jordan thought it was really funny?
A few friends at Church who are also military spouses asked me how I was doing so far… and I couldn’t help but think, I can’t believe he only left last week. It seems like each day is soooo long. But so far, we are all doing well. :)
Today was a good day. The first Monday where both boys were back in school. We woke up early, ate breakfast and were ready to leave the house on time. Nothing forgotten. Traffic pretty light. Both boys delivered safely into the care of their teachers. Time for me to quick shop at the commissary, mail out Troy’s first care package, and come home and clean up. I mean nitty gritty, vacuuming the floor boards, wiping down doors and light switches, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, washing dishes, putting things away. ahhh. no craftiness happened today, but I am so happy to have had the undisturbed time to clean up. all the while listening to the Twilight and New Moon soundtracks on the iTouch. gotta love it. I also upgraded the laptop to Windows 7 this weekend and am currently upgrading my desktop to windows 7. We had our dinner at 4:30, I had Jalen’s lunch packed for tomorrow and dinner dishes washed up and coffee set for tomorrow. Tomorrow I get to hang out with my friend FabuLisa and I am excited! We always have so much fun chatting, shopping, eating, chatting, eating, and sometimes we craft too. ha. :)
Today’s picture of the day came from this morning’s writing assignment at Jordan’s school. For the first part of the year, they’ve been working on writing their first names. We are now moving on to last names. I must say, I’ve always thought we had a longish last name, after all Cutchens has 9 letters… but today I saw so so many kids with hyphenated last names, i told Jordan we had nothing to complain about there!
Tomorrow is new digi kit release day at Two Peas in a Bucket, I can’t wait to see what’s new! I just got the cutest school kit this weekend, I can’t wait to get to work on it.
This weekend I started reading Twilight again. I am really hooked on this love story. sigh. I finished it up today.I am going to curl up with the iTouch Kindle App and continue reading New Moon again for a bit before bed. I love love stories. Stories that have happy endings. or fair endings. I really liked the time traveler’s wife. I loved the Harry Potter stories. I have sworn off that picoult woman. She is awesome at writing, I just don’t like those twisted endings. do you have any recommendations for good books?
Thanks for stopping by, Love Love and blog you later!
Joscie, rhymes with bossy!

glad you & the boys are faring well. i know what you mean about those days dragging by. i thought for sure we were already two months down, but no dice. we’re praying for you guys.
xo
{{hugs}} I hope those weeks fly by. I prefer happy endings myself. Not into that Nicholas Sparks guy. I haven’t read anything great lately. My eyeballs are messed up from chemo, and reading is hard. Weird, huh? I got a Stephen King book on audio so I can scrap and listen to it. Haven’t started it yet. My taste in books is varied. Have you read the classic The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck? I love that book, it’s sort of a love story, and struggles, good times, and bad.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. every. single. day.
Hi Joscie!
Try the Yada Yada Prayer Group! There are 7 books in the series. I have passed my books through about 8 friends and we all love them! I am now rereading #1 for a book club I am in and I can’t put it down even the 2nd time! :)
Happy reading! (got any recommendations for me? :) )
both your familiy and Noel’s are an inspiration and example of the strength in military wives. I applaud you both on the jobs you do tirelessly in the absence of your spouses. My dad was AD Army and constantly TDY and I never saw this side of my mom. Both your blogs make me appreciate her sacrifice all the more. Bravo gals.
BTW, I like your P365 watermark! ;)
Hi Joscie
A good series of love stories would be Robyn Carr’s Virgin River books. I think there are 13 or so total a new one just came out this month. The first one is Virgin River…
I got them for a steal at amazon. It was 4 for 3 sale. It may still be going on…got mine in Dec.
Another good one is Tucker’s Trilogy or something Tucker’s (Valley maybe haha) can’t remember the title but they are by Lori Wicks. Taken place back in the 1800′s but they are good too
I’m ADDICTED to reading can you tell=)
