antiquing

Troy and I had to head to the post office to mail out my project for the home idea book. The nearest post office is about 15 miles from the house and we got every thing mailed out. We stopped off at the antique mall in town. It was the first time I had been in there, and I was immediately sucked in. I fell in love with this 10ft long church pew (for $250). I really wanted it, but 1. how would i get it back to the house, 2. where could I put it? 3. how would I pay for it. Obviously, it stayed there. but look at it in all it’s glory. ha.

and of course i was drooling over this sewing machine. check out the wooden case, so so pretty! :)

and this tobacco desk. it was really really tall. and totally drool worthy!

I ended up buying the two stamps in the middle of the desk (score $5 a piece)

totally drooling over this curio cabinet.

and these theater seats, ($125)

can you guess what this is?

it’s a display case for umbrellas. isn’t it beautiful?!

and of course, I was drooling over this typewriter.

We finally walked out of the antique store with two stamps and a coke wooden case (2+ hours later) It was so nice walking around with Troy

Do you antique? What kind of things do you like to look for?

Thanks for stopping by and I’ll blog you later!

I like to go to antique stores, I don’t look for anything in particular, I just like to look!

Ooh wow! Where do I find these stores?! Was everything pricey?! I have eclectic taste, I like to mix whatever I like together, whether it’s modern or antique. Sounds fun that you guys do this together!

I’m drooling too. Wow…amazing stuff. Maybe you could be a piece and put it in your future house?? Wish I was shopping with you!

Love your antique pics! I know you and Peggy will have lots to talk about! I believe you’ll be refurbishing your own in a couple of years or so! Could be fun!!!

I shop for floral frogs, keys, postcards, stuff to scrap with and vintage aprons! ;) I’d love to find a card catalog thingie. That’s my dream, to put one in my scrap room.

Beautiful, beautiful! I love antique shopping. I try not to buy so much anymore b/c my collections were getting a little out of hand. BUT I still love looking for 80′s movie memorabilia and toys. I have lots of stuff from ET, The Goonies, and An American Tail. :) We also collect strange kitchen gadgets to decorate with.
