Aloha to my new readers via the Operation Write Home Blog Hop and welcome back to my “old” readers ;) I am so glad you are here. Operation Write Home is such a great organization that sends cards from cardmakers like YOU to our country’s deployed heroes to write home. If you would like to start at the top of the Hop, here is the link.
My name is Joscie. {That rhymes with bossy, not jozzy, not joe-sy. Just so you can say it right in your head ;)} My husband is in the US Navy and stationed aboard a ship at Pearl Harbor, HI that just returned from a short 3 month deployment a few weeks ago. While he was gone, I sent him cards to send home to our 2 sons. On the days when we opened the mailbox and there were cards or post cards from Dad, the boys were super excited. They would read and reread them and smile. Our 4 year old would ask me to read and reread his “mails” from Dad, as he is just learning to read. We are facing a 6 month deployment in the new year and I plan to send my hubby armed with a lot of cards to send home to the boys. I also want to send cards to Operation Write Home so other family members can have the same joy of happy mail. Some times during a deployment, it’s the little things that help you get through.
Here are a few cards I’ve made up to send to Operation Write Home:
I am still working on more cards and plan to pack these up and send them on next week! :)
I know you’re asking yourself, self, how do I make cards to send? well look right here for all the details. Or are you saying, I’m not crafty, what can I do to help? Good news, you can help too.
The next stop on the blog hop is: Dana :)
In celebration of the blog hop, I am giving away a package of Hawaii goodies. Leave a comment and I’ll draw for a winner on Monday, November 16. (edited date)
Thanks for Stopping by and have a great day! :)

Cool cards. I love the simplicity… they are so elegant! God bless your hubby and you. Thank you for all you both do for our freedom! {hug}
What an awesome family! I’m so thankful to your hubby & your family for your service & sacrifice. Your card ideas are great! Many people think every card has to be so elaborate, but the soldiers love the homemade cards no matter what. My grandkids even make them too.
I love your cards and you’ve shot them beautifully! May I ask what techniques you used for photographing them? Always looking for tips from talented people. Mahalo!
Very lovely cards… thanks for helping to spread the word about this wonderful way to help our service men and women. Hugs, Peggy
(love those Harry Potter look-alikes.. how cute is that)
Thanks Peggy! :) We had so much fun dressing up!
What fun creations, that typewrite is so cute and I loved the little story about your son enjoying his mails. I hope he gets lots of mails during the next deployment.
This is such a heartening venture. Here in Canada, the painting guild I belong to also creates and sends cards for our troops. They range from painted, thru to stamped and embossed cards in every style imaginable and are received with great appreciation. It’s such a little thing we can do for our heroes!
