lost and found

When Troy and I first got married 13+ years ago, we bought these refrigerator letter magnets.  Silly as it seems, since we were 4 years before we even had Jalen.  I always loved spelling things out on the fridge and we’d usually spell out joscie luvs troy or troy luvs joscie.  Not to be too cute, but we used both o’s in our names so luvs it was.  We have schlepped these magnets from fridge to fridge in all our moves these years.  Just about 6-9 months ago I had an idea to make a wall hanging or something with the letters.  I pulled them off the fridge and placed them in a caddy in my scraproom.  Jordan also loved these magnets and would dig them out and play with them.  I tried to discourage him and put them away.  Then one day as I dug them out, I realized the L was missing.  I was so sad and thought Jordan had lost it.  I looked and looked but couldn’t find it.  Then on a trip to target I noticed they had similar magnetic letters.  I thought about buying a set and then decided not to.  Last week we went to target to get something else and I decided to pick up a set of the letters.  I brought it home and set it on the counter.  The next day, I got out my paper gator, aka the finger chopper offer, that I keep stored in it’s box to keep away from little fingers… and when I opened the box, the L was in the box.  I couldn’t believe it! I thought it was lost, but there it was, the L that had been missing for a long time.  I’m not sure how it got in there, but I was sure glad to find it.  anyway.  I decided to make my little wall hanging and here it is:

the backing is painted chipboard.  The scalloped frame is chipboard from Stampin Up! the paper is sassafrass lass.  the man and woman are naked chipboard pieces from maya roads, sprayed with my homemade glimmer mist and then coated in crystal effects.  I also used crystal effects to glue the letters down and gloss the middle.  the flowers are imaginesce and kaiser.  I also pleated the ribbon under the scallops.  I tied a ribbon into the holes in the heads of the people :)

thanks for stopping by!
