Troy got off safely and on time, in spite of having to go get a new ID card on the morning of deployment.

we shot some last minute pictures at the house before getting in the car, this one courtesy of Jalen ;)

I think we did well seeing him off because we dropped him off and said our goodbyes at the car instead of the usual standing on the pier watching the ship pull away.

farewell

Troy sent me these shots and I was impressed both with his composition and the quality of the cell phone pictures!

My mom came over to the house to watch the boys while I went to Jordan’s preschool orientation.  It was funny but not really funny?  picture parents for 60+ kids all sitting in a large classroom, in tiny preschooler chairs.  Now add to that the fact most of us didn’t know each other, it was like an elevator, painfully, uncomfortably quiet!  Thankfully I didn’t have to wait too long for it to start.  I got word that one of their policies at the school include every one who comes to drop off the preschooler and the preschooler must wash their hands before entering the classroom. ( i LOVE that rule!) We heard about policies and what to expect and met the teachers and other parents.  We finished up with a craft project, a fleece, no sew pillow case for our preschoolers to use at naptime. so cute!  The teachers come to our homes to meet our preschoolers in a quick 20 minute visit so they are not strangers on the first day of school.

Yesterday morning before the home visit, we went to the Commissary and took flat dad with us.  We got to Hickam at about 815ish, so we drove through BK for some breakfast and ate in the car.  We went into the store around 8:45 and got a space shuttle wagon, cleaned it down and got our groceries.  The highlights of our trip, unbelievable beautiful Mangos from Maui. I got 3 and had one last night with dinner. So so yummy!  And the other, a picture of flat Dad  standing next to the bottles of Cholula!  *(We joke about rude mouths getting hot sauce, and Troy introduced us to the super hot sauce on the ship.)

Last night we made fish and shrimp with butter/lemon and tomatoes like accidental fish and shrimp a la Bubba Gump’s and hey, it was good!  Even Jalen liked it!  After baths, Flat Dad hung out for stories, prayers and bedtime with Jalen and Jordan.  Jalen slept over in Jordan’s room.  I love that our boys love to read/be read to.

I sat in my bed and knitted a little bit.  It’s been a while, so how much do I love youtube for tutorials?!

Today we’re going to go to Fabric Mart and pick up some fabric for a sleeping bag for Jordan to use at Nap time at school and Tomorrow is Jordan’s first time going to the class.  I have to be with him and Jalen is not allowed so I have to drive him out to the my mom’s office and let him stay with my mom, go back to the school with Jordan for an hour and then back to the base to pick up Jalen.

Thanks for stopping by, Love Love and Blog you later,

Joscie, rhymes with bossy!

I appreciate your prayers and love you too! :) It was really bad the last time (4 years ago) we watched the ship pull away. Jalen was that little kid on the news, sobbing on the pier. I try to keep the tears at home.

I love reading your blog – with all the stories of your family and great creations. I had to chuckle at your preschool orientation story :) Sounds so familiar. I would love to see (if you have a photo) and/or hear how you made the no sew pillow cases. What a great idea! Good luck to you all!
