I was inspired by Ali Edwards last year to declare a word to represent the oncoming year. Last year I chose the word Diligent and it worked well for me. In fact, I considered keeping the word this year, but figured people expected a change, and of course I like to provide, right? ha. Anyway, I didn’t really have a single word coming to mind, but instead a phrase I had heard a zillion times back in my days of Mary Kay. I can hear it now, the DIN DIN club. Do it Now, Do it Now. I am pretty sure that all of you know I tend to be a procrastinator. I believe it’s a function of my warped perfectionism. You see, I get a brilliant idea… or some other idea… and think, “I should…____” * insert clean the kitchen, do the laundry, make a new layout, write a thankyou note… and I get caught up in the idea that if I can’t devote my whole energy/brain to doing the project all the way to completion, then I don’t even want to start. for example, with doing the laundry, if I can’t wash, dry, fold and put away, hang up the items needing to be hung, I’d rather let the basket sit until I feel like I can devote my whole energy into it. I’d rather not do anything halfway. I think, I should write a thank you card to so and so… but then I think, well, they are probably expecting a handmade card, so I’ll need to make a new Thank You card especially for that person, and if it I can not make the most fabulous thank you card right this minute, fill it out, stamp it and mail it, then I’ll wait and do it later. You can see where this is going. This year, I am doing it now. no more waiting, I’m DOing it! So far this year, I have done our tax returns, filled out applications for our first and second choice private schools for next school year, I have filled out financial aid applications as far as I can… I am embracing it and so far it’s working out well for me. What is your word or phrase for the year?
This is some vinyl I cut on my silhouette and mounted on my white board right above my monitor!

This is SO me! I procrastinate like a pro! In fact I haven’t even started my lo for Concroption yet! Good thing I work well last minute! :)
Oh, I love that!! Last year my word was – blessed. This year – miracle.
Hmmm…I need to do something creative with that word…hmmm.
Thank you for the inspiration!!
What a good motto to live by….you have inspired me to have a think about what mine should be…ummm! I’ll have to give it some thought.
I LOVE the vinyl!!

Hello! Just dropping by to see what you’ve been up to lately. I’m loving the new SU catalog. I’ll need to win the lottery to buy everything I want from it!
For the first time this year, I decided to choose a word for myself. That word is Simplicity. I want to streamline my life after the crazy-hectic year I had last year. So far, so good!
PS – My GF is at CHA right now and is giving me daily updates. Lots of awesome things coming out!!
I’m so afflicted with this kind of procrastination. I can’t just send a card that I’ve got already made, it needs to be made with that person in mind! LOL!
My word is Learn. And, I’m actually following through on it! So far this year, I’ve learned how to crochet (potholders for now, flowers are next) and I learned about flash photography.
Search to the beginning of January on my Blog and you’ll see my “word.” It’s “Live!” As in, “Live life, don’t let life LIVE you!”
Your phrase is like the Nike motto….”just do it”. I’m always telling myself to Nike the damn thing and get it over with!
I picked a word this year and that word is “smile”. Doesn’t seem to be enough of them going around lately.
Love your “Do It Now” motto. I actually started doing that with my business. I would wait and wait until I had a certain time allotted to do invoices, but never got to them, because I never have 2 solid hours to do invoicing… 3 weeks go by and I still didn’t do it, which means, people aren’t paying me. I decided to just do 2 or 3 a day, take smaller bites. No one said you have to eat the whole cake all at once. ;)
i love your creativity with the silhouette!!!
Do you import your signature from another program or created it with the silhouette software?

After a lot of thought, I made mine HOPE. It originally had nothing to do with the Obama campaign, but I like how it’s tying into the world around me. I was worried about it because I wasn’t sure I’d be able to do much with it. But I’m finding LOTS of inspiration. I love your determination for the new year. But I’m also thinking you won’t have to worry about 2nd and 3rd choice! ;)
I had to go with a phrase as well ~one day at a time~ I often get caught up in thinking about the future and obsessing about what needs to get done or what I should have done. So stopping and reminding myself to take one day at a time has helped to keep me in the moment. So far so good :)
