Christmas activities!

December 22nd, 2008 · 8 Comments · DT, Family, Food, Hawaii, Holidays, Photography, scrapbook, stamping

I have been snapping shots left and right and haven’t taken the time to share them with you.  First Jalen and Jordan’s Christmas performance at school was so cute.  Jordan’s preschool class featured the boys and girls dancing together *read the boys stood in place holding hands with the girls who moved around them*  Jordan’s partner was by far the cutest little girl who had all the moves down and a smile like an angel.  Since I didn’t get to ask permission, i’ve blurred her face out.  The song was rockin’ around the christmas tree.  Jalen’s class revamped the 12 days of Christmas song to a school version.  Since he was in the back row, I did not get many good pictures of him. he was excellent though.

We’ve also toured the ship and taken pictures of it decked out in all it’s splendor. ha.  The ship is the USS Russell and it has won the Christmas Decoration competition for the 4th year in a row!

I thought it was an interesting contrast of the festive lights hung over a big gun.

inside the ship are lots and lots of ladders.  I caught this shot looking down to the boys…

Troy telling Jalen about fire fighting equipment… I liked the the look of the shot through the doorway.

We took a trip downtown to see the Honolulu City Lights.  This is in front of Honolulu Hale (where the city offices are).  I couldn’t believe that I forgot to bring my wider angle lens and also my battery was low.  We may take another trip down there with the wide lens…

This is Iolani Palace.  It’s the only Royal Palace in the United States.  I looooooove how it looks lit with lanterns. of course it would have looked even better with the wide lens… but still a great shot.  and I also love the closeup shots of the lanterns below.

I have been baking and making treats to share.  These are the goodie bags.  Some are for friends and some are for our water delivery man, our mail carrier, and our garbage man. :)

I printed the labels on cardstock and punched with the marvy scalloped rectangle, adhered to red Stampin’ Up! cardstock cut out of the Top Note Die.  I love that die!  The stamps are also Stampin’ Up!

we went out for a family walk around the neighborhood tonight and I saw a sign that reminded me of my pal Chrispea!
