I can hardly believe it’s already November, and the second week at that! I know you’ve probably been thinking what the?? Yep. We’ve had Granny and Pop visiting from Alabama for the last two weeks and not quite on our regular schedule. I got a new table from the Navy Exchange Furniture store last week Friday. It’s big and beautiful and did I mention big? oh my goodness. It was marked down to $79 and it’s a monster of a table. I am still trying to get everything organized and really purging unnecessary items. Now there will really be space to share with my scrappy friends. When Troy was helping me move items out of my scrap space into the hallway and kitchen and dining room, he told me, “you know, there’s a word for this…” referring to my scrappy goodness… and I suggested, “well-stocked? prepared?” he didn’t answer. ha. smart move on his part.
Here are some of the items moved into the hallway:
School- The school the boys are attending this year is a private school that serves Pre-School to Third Grade and Jalen is in third grade this year. We are applying to the Kamehameha Schools for next year’s fourth grade class, but it is highly competitive and we have to keep our options open. I considered sending him to a public school over on the base and supplementing him with additional homeschooling assignments. We stopped at the school today to see about a geographical exception form that might allow him to register next year. As we pulled up to the school, I really got a nervous, sinking feeling that this was not the right school for us. We went in and picked up the form and left. I told Troy that I didn’t have a great feeling about this school and that I felt like their current school was a little family, and this school didn’t feel the same. As we were leaving, I mentioned to Troy that we should see the Christian School that I was looking at online. We stopped in and got some paperwork and took a tour. The lady from the office was SOOOO nice. She explained different things the school has to offer. I actually got teary eyed. I know this probably sounds silly to some, but I really, really want both boys there next year. It just feels right.
We went to a “scrapbooking expo” on November 1 at the blaisdell center. What a waste of time. There were very few vendors and the selection was, well, rather disappointing. I did however buy a cool bracelet and pair of earrings. Check it out!
We also had a date night at the Cheesecake Factory (and a nighttime photo stroll in Waikiki). It was so nice.
I wonder, do normal people see patterns out in the world? When I look at things, I visualize them through my lens and/or as fabric or scrapbooking patterns. When I saw this building, I thought, Miss Mint, has a paper like that that I love!
and I loved this building too.
and Gas?! Could I be any more excited? I think not. I hope it stays low. Keep using your gas efficiently people. let’s keep the demand low! $2.69 at the Navy Gas Station! WOOT!
OH, and I did a photoshoot with my girlfriend Adrienne and her mom. so much fun chatting and shooting with them. Look how cute she looks:
PS, if you’re looking to build new or remodel your kitchen, you totally have to go with Susan Palmer Designs! :)

I’m also working on a Calendar project for my Church and also have been taking pictures for a new photo directory for the Church.
I’ve also been working on projects for submissions, it seems as though, when it rains it pours. either no calls or ten million. all at the same time. What are you up to these days? I’ve missed you all, and I am so glad to be back to my regular bloggy life. Love-Love, blog you again real soon! :)

oh i’m so glad the school thing looks like it’s going to work out. we just switched this year with our move, and it was just as hard on me as it was on the girls. it’s great now, and i love their new school. the change is just hard. i hope you find a new little family there.
love your photo shoot walk. and your cool new (cheap) table!
First off: Can I just say how JEALOUS I am of your new table? I WISH I even had a space besides the t.v. tray! LOL Glad you had a great visit with the Grand-Grandparents!
Definitely go with your “gut” feeling on the school! I can’t stress enough how it matters. I am in a small town and have chosen to send my children to public school when we moved here 13 yrs ago. They are absolutely awesome and they are doing EXTREMELY well. “It takes a Village” so works here for us! And I am very sure, you will have that for the boys! ;)
Now, to get back to Jessica’s book! Catch ya later!! P.S. Yay for price of gas!!!! ;-)
I know what ya mean about seeing buildings or things in nature and automatically thinking of scrapbooking. I am famous for that! I love all your photos!
Yep, I wonder if “normal” people notice those things. Matt and I will critique the lettering on trucks as we’re sitting in traffic… saying things like that “i” is way too far away from the “s”…. hehehe. Or that logo is hideous, what were they thinking? Glad you had a nice visit…. and glad you’re back in bloggy land. :) Sounds like the school is perfect, always go with your gut when it comes to your kids. Nice score on the table!!
Great table! What a deal you got there!!!
And yes, I see patterns all of the time and think that would make a great scrapbook paper. I usually keep those comments to myself though so the hubby doesn’t think I’ve totally lost it!! lol!
Good to see you back blogging away!
Testing to see how you get you name to come in green with a link to your blog.
Oops, I misspelled my blog name. Joscie, I sure hope you don’t mind me using your blog as a testing space!!! lol!!!

Totally know what you mean about the patterns! Especially love the rainbow row of ipods! I want an ipod just because of the color! =) Very cool buildings! Where is the info about the concroption dt? Couldn’t find it on their site!
I remember those days stressing over the right schools. But it sounds like you are on the right track. Everything will work out fine!
aww thanks Jos … :)
Hopefully they will get into Kamehameha … heard the other day that Kamehameha schools is paying tuition for other private schools for kids who are eligible but can’t get in due to space limitations? Don’t know if that’s true though … but your littles are so cute, that should automatically put them to the front of the pack :)
… if only I ruled the world …
