Journaling: I was all set to photograph my beautiful pumpkin pie. It was perfectly golden… and when I walked up to the counter, a perfect little fingerprint in the middle of the pie. I asked Jordan, “Did you do that?!” He smiled and nodded and said, “I did!”
First I drew a circle with a compass on the orange paper. I cut it out with a pair of pinking shears. I painted a circle in burnt umber acrylic paint on black cardstock, allowed it to dry and mounted the orange circle on top. I cut out along the painted edge and mounted on foam dots over another black cardstock. I punched a few notches on the main photo with the Stampin’ Up! spiral punch and adhered them to the paper. I measured out some buttons along the edge to determine how many buttons I’d need. Then I used a needle and natural crochet thread to thread all the buttons and glue dots to adhere to the edge. I mixed the burnt umber paint with the ivory paint and painted on the journaling area. I also dry brushed ivory paint over metal mesh in three areas around the circle. I used the back of a paint brush to paint dots all around the edge of the cardstock. I also added random dots on the orange paper. I used black pigment ink to make Jordan’s fingerprint right under the journaling, and a soda bottle cap to stamp an acrylic paint circle around the print. doodle bug stickers spell out the title i did on a prima shaped chipboard journaling spot. Three making memories flowers with button centers placed around the layout. I cut a pinked circle out of the patterned paper with a spellbinders die. pierced holes around the edge and backstitched with the crochet thread. Punched a word window and hand wrote “thanksgiving 2008″, mounted with foam dots to circle. A strip of hero arts gemstones in yellow colored with red copic look orange and accent the circle and the main photo.
