Maritime Museum

June 26th, 2008 · 8 Comments · Uncategorized

When we renewed our Bishop Museum Family passes earlier this month, we found out that it was also good for admission into the Hawaii Maritime Museum. Luckily, Troy got off work early today, so we headed down to the museum that is located at Aloha Tower. Here is a shot of Troy and Jordan checking out the fish:
a lighthouse light at the entrance…
we donned the walkman styled tourguides and walked through the museum. I told Jalen that this was the coolest thing, the ipod of my day. he just laughed at me. Here he is pointing out Cape Town on an old hawaiian map.

this big vat is like one used to cook blubber. ew, gross.
how cool is this scale?!
and what is it that makes old typewriters so romantic, so desirable? I wondered if I could buy this one. hee hee. probably not.

Troy being a funny pirate….
Old style Hawaiian canoes made of wood. no screws, no nails.Troy traumatizing Jordan by putting him next to the shark jaws.
Jalen being a tough guy.
My POTD my hubs being so funny! Some of my bento goodies from Marukai. the box was 1.99, the bag 1.99 and the pick was in a set of 12 for 1.49. SOOO CUTE!
My pumpkin plant… that bugger is getting BIG! looks like it would like to take over the whole yard. I’m scared. ha!
scroll down to read the next post… my MM excitement is posted there. I will be giving a RAK for a comment on my blog post there on Thursday July 3 and for a comment on my blog here on Thursday July 3. I will announce the RAK winners on Saturday July 5.
Hope you are all having a great day… Blog you later! :)

    I love all your pictures!!

I chuckled when I read your comment about the pumpkin plant getting really big. 2 summers ago I planted a pumpkin which was really cute to start off with. AND then it took over the yard. I might add that we don’t have a very big yard to begin with. My husband threatened to cut it down — but I would plead that a baby pumpkin may be born on this vine. Of course I did not end up with a pumpkin on a vine. We ended up getting our pumpkin at a pumpkin patch!!

I am addicted to your blog. Love getting to visit places with you and your adorable family. Love the pic of hubby being silly. I know I love to catch my hubby being silly because he has to be so serious most of the time.
