I have been really fortunate to go on most of Jalen’s field trips… there was only one I couldn’t go to (and selfishly, I was happy when it got rained out- it was at the beach , and I reeeaaaally have a thing about water safety) I just have watched other parents watching the kids and have always been a bit skittish about exactly how closely they watch the kids. (or don’t watch the kids) I am also that parent that is no fun saying, hey, you stay with the group. but today’s field trip was really easy and fun. we went to Bishop Museum and heard about our place in the galaxy… wow, those kids sure know a lot (read: boy I really don’t know too much about space) I also got to take lots and lots of pictures. here is a shot of Jalen looking at aloha tower from the observatory. lots of cuuuute kids in his class. always so much fun on these field trips. also a shot looking at the sun through the special filters. **did you know there will be a lunar eclipse on monday night around midnight?~ yeah, i didn’t either. but cool, I may wake him up to see it. the lady at the museum said the earth will cast a shadow on the moon and it will appear red… spooky!
